New CD: Can You Hear the Ocean?

Yay! It’s that time of the year for a new CD release. ‘Can You Hear the Ocean?’ combines melodic piano with acoustic guitar and strings, to create a colorful mix of melodic and ambient soundscapes that move between uplifting passionate pieces, and softer romantic compositions. I wrote and recorded this CD while living on the beach in Southern California over the summer and winter of 2013. Mia, my 2-year-old daughter, created the art for the cover of the CD! New CD: We Watched the Water Fall

I’m excited to announce the release of a new CD, “We Watched the Water Fall.”

‘We Watched the Water Fall’ was recorded between December 2011 and December 2012 in San Francisco and in Huntington Beach, California. People have described the music on this album as a haunting, dreamy and romantic mix of neo classical piano, lush ambient soundscapes, and smooth, thoughtful grooves. Although piano-based, the album blends in classical guitar and strings, and has splashes of World music instrumentation and electronica. New Shimmer Song CD! Release the Clouds

I’m excited to announce the release of a new CD, “Release the Clouds.”

‘Release the Clouds’ is a slight departure from the usual piano-focused Shimmer Song music. This CD combines soft piano with classical guitar to create a colorful mix of melodic and ambient soundscapes that blend classical, World music and electronica. I like to describe the music as earthy – not even sure what that means, but it sounds right! I wrote and recorded this over the summer and winter of 2011. Happy Holidays! New East West Quantum Leap Coming

Happy Holidays. I’m spending a very relaxed few days up in Northern California: Fort Bragg, Mendicino and Guernville/Russian River. Love getting away to this part of California this time of year. In the meantime, I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Complete Composers Collection from EWQL. I’ve been dreaming about adding these amazing sounds to my palette for a long time; can’t wait to get my hands on them. New strings, choirs, and rare instruments from around the world. Doesn’t mean I’m trading in my Native Instruments collection – no way. Love my Kontakt, Massive and Reaktor and the Electric Piano and Organ too!
